Firing Up Cancer
24 – 26 June 2015

Welcome

The conference presidents, Profs. Stephan Bodis and Niels Kuster, welcome you to ESHO 2015 - the 30th annual meeting of the European Society for Hyperthermic Oncology. ESHO 2015 is jointly hosted by the Kantonsspital Aarau and the IT'IS Foundation for Research on Information Technologies in Society and will be held at the Kantonsspital Aarau and the Technopark in Zurich June 24 - 26, 2015.

Committees

The conference presidents and local organisers, the ESHO board members, and all the members of the local scientific committee are listed here. The local scientific committee consists of representatives of all the Swiss Hyperthermia Network Group member institutions and of major Swiss medical centres, and includes clinicians, biologists, engineers, and physicists.

Registration

Registration opens January 2015 with an early-bird deadline of April 30; students and ESHO members enjoy reduced registration fees. Students also enjoy a one-year free e-subscription to the International Journal of Hyperthermia. Increased registration fees for non ESHO members include a one-year ESHO membership and a one-year free e-suscription to the International Journal of Hyperthermia.

Local Information

The Kantonsspital in Aarau and the Technopark in Zurich are very centrally located and in pleasant neighbourhoods. Further sites to discover in both cities make it worth your while to stay at least an extra day in Switzerland before or after the conference. June is also an ideal month for a visit to Switzerland, with comfortable temperatures but not yet too many tourists.

Accommodation

A number of single- and double-bed rooms at the four most conveniently-located hotels within walking distance of the main venue in Zurich have already been blocked for booking by participants. However, Zurich, of course, offers many more options for all kinds of budgets, and the workshop organizers will provide you with additional recommendations upon request.

Transportation

Traveling to and around Zurich and Aarau is easy and safe, and the famously punctual Swiss public transportation system is a great option to get you to within walking distance of anywhere you want to go. Trains, trams, and buses will get you from the airport into town, and from one end of the city to the other. Both locations are also a short train ride away from the most amazing landscapes.
